Purpose of processing

  • Provision of the information offer within the framework of the initiative Green-AI Hub Mittelstand
  • Contact and correspondence with visitors and users
  • Improvement of the website offer
  • Provision and improvement of the Green-AI Hub Mittelstand newsletter
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the initiative

Anonymous and protected usage

In the context of providing the information offer, the visit and use of our website are anonymous. Personal data is only collected on our website to the extent technically necessary. The processed personal data will not be transmitted to third parties or disclosed in any other way, except on the basis of specific legal obligations. We do not integrate any content or service offers from third-party providers within our information offer.

When using our website, the data transmission on the Internet is protected against third parties' knowledge by an encryption procedure that is recognized as secure and thus cannot be observed or falsified in a simple manner.

Access data

Each time our website is accessed, usage, traffic and connection data is collected, temporarily stored in a log file and regularly deleted after 14 days.

The following data is stored for each access/retrieval:

  • IP address
  • transmitted user agent information (esp. type/version of web browser, operating system, etc.)
  • transmitted referrer information (URL of the referring page)
  • Date and time of access/retrieval
  • transmitted access method/function
  • transmitted input values (search terms, etc.)
  • accessed page or accessed file
  • amount of data transferred
  • status of the processing of the access/retrieval

The processing of access data is lawful because it is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of ZUG (Article 6(1)(1)(f) EU GDPR). The legitimate interests of ZUG are ensuring the operation and security of the website, and the investigation, detection and prosecution of illegal acts in connection with the use of the website.

The stored data records can be statistically evaluated in order to be able to adapt and optimize our information offer to the needs of our visitors. Techniques that make it possible to trace the access behavior of users (tracking) are not used. The creation of user profiles and automated decision-making based on this is excluded.

The stored data records cannot be assigned to specific persons. A combination with other data sources is not made in principle. However, the stored data can be checked and merged with other data sources if we become aware of concrete indications of illegal use.

The software is set so that the IP addresses are not stored completely, but 2 bytes of the IP address are masked (Ex: 192.168.xxx.xxx). In this way, an assignment of the shortened IP address to the calling computer is no longer possible, so that you remain anonymous as a user.

Web analytics

On the basis of Article 6(1)(1)(f) EU GDPR, ZUG and the service providers engaged as processors with the support and further development evaluate usage information for statistical purposes as part of public relations work and for the demand-oriented provision of information on the tasks to be performed by ZUG.

This is done with the web analytics service Matomo.

The software uses a persistent cookie to recognize visitors even after a long time. This information is stored as a text file on the hard drive of the visitor's computer. The cookie has a validity of 13 months and then deletes itself.

The software also sets a so-called session cookie. Session cookies are small pieces of information that a provider stores in the RAM of the visitor's computer. A randomly generated, unique identification number is stored in a session cookie, a so-called session ID. In addition, a cookie contains information about its origin and the storage period. These cookies cannot store any other data. They are used to view the number of clicks on our site and unique visitors separately. That is, regardless of the number of clicks, the session cookie identifies you as an individual user of our site. If session cookies are deactivated, you will be listed as a new user for each action. The session cookies used are deleted as soon as you end the session.

The software runs exclusively on the web servers of the service provider Net-Build GmbH. The usage information is only stored there. The data is not passed on to third parties.

If you do not agree with the storage and analysis of this data from your visit, then you can object to the storage and use below by mouse click at any time.

In this case, a so-called opt-out cookie is placed in your browser, which means that Matomo does not collect any session data.

Due to legal obligation (Article 6(1)(1)(c) EU GDPR in conjunction with the German Commercial Code and other regulations), all email correspondence is archived for a period of six years.
